Blue DogOne Call to Cut Through the Red Tape

According to the Alliance of Information & Referral Systems (AIRS), it takes the average person seven phone calls to find the correct resource when seeking assistance related to health and human services.  2-1-1 cuts through red tape and confusion and gets people to the right place on their first try.  One call to 2-1-1 accesses wide-ranging resources throughout the community; no more wrong numbers, no more wasted time trying to find the right resources.

2-1-1 is available from land lines in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania Counties from cell phones, dial 252-HELP (4357).

Barometer Tools for You

2-1-1 data can enable service providers, funders, and other stakeholders to assess needs and conceptualize solutions - as a community.  2-1-1 speaks to people in our community from all walks of life, and we link people with a variety of health and human services.  Because of our broad vantage point, we are a "social barometer" that is uniquely able to identify the needs our community is facing and the gaps between what people in our community are searching for and the resources and solutions that are available.

2-1-1 tracks the needs that are expressed by every caller and we also track the types of services that are being searched for in our online database.  Do you have questions about existing community resources?  Are you looking for information and statistics related to community needs?  Would you like more information about the types of things our customers are searching for or more information about a specific issue that you are interested in?    Please email us at 211info@unitedwayabc.org  or call us at 2-1-1 from a land line or (828) 252-HELP (4357) from a cell phone for more information on the types of reports and information that we might be able to provide.
