Save Yourself Money and Frustration

Tax payers listen up! Before you pay to have your taxes done, consider this:  any household earning less than $40,000 per year qualifies to receive free tax preparation and may also qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit, which means more money in your tax return!  Local free tax preparation sites will open on February 1st, just as your W2s arrive.

2-1-1 can link you to free tax preparation and other helpful financial resources in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania Counties. Information about tax site locations and hours of operation should be available by the end of January.  For more information, dial 2-1-1 from a landline or 252-4357 from a cell phone, or search online at www.211wnc.org.
