Add
to Our Collection!
You
may have seen our growing collection of 2-1-1 photos in last year's annual report or on
our facebook page.
Have you seen a 2-1-1 out in the world? You can help us grow our
collection by adding a submission! Just snap a photo, and email it
to 211info@unitedwayabc.org.
We saw this one in Brevard, just outside the Comporium offices after a
2-1-1 meeting. Keep your eyes open... you never know when you'll
spot one!

Resource Spotlight:
Intake/Assessment
for Mental Health
and Substance
Abuse Services
Do you know where to turn when you or a loved one are in need
of psychiatric services or substance abuse treatment? Western Highlands
Network may be able to help.
Western Highlands Network is a state-designated local
management entity, a managing agency that provides services for people
with mental illness, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse, and
acts as a gatekeeper to those services. When Western Highlands is
contacted by a potential consumer, a clinical specialist evaluates the
person's needs, assesses payment sources (whether insurance, out of
pocket, or public funds) and then refers the consumer to a provider of
their choice for therapy and other direct services. While Western
Highlands does not provide direct services itself, its access unit is
available 24/7 to connect people with services, including crisis
intervention.
Learn more about Western Highlands Network intake services
by viewing their 2-1-1 database listing here or visiting
their website.
Information about services in other parts of the state is
available on the website of the
North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and
Substance Abuse Services.
