WNCAP Launches "I Need You to Know" Campaign

The Western North Carolina AIDS Project (WNCAP) is launching a media campaign to combat HIV/AIDS stigma in Western North Carolina.  The campaign theme, "I Need You to Know" is an attempt to raise awareness about how HIV/AIDS affects everyone in the community.

A major goal of the campaign is to obtain 5,000 signatures from comunity members indicating agreement with a series of statements affirming the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS.  The statements are:

  • People living with HIV/AIDS deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.
  • People living with HIV/AIDS deserve unconditional love from their families.
  • People living with HIV/AIDS have a right to equal access under the law to safe and affordable housing, employment, healthcare and education.
  • People living with HIV/AIDS should be seen as productive members of society.
  • People living with HIV/AIDS have a right to LIVE, just like everyone else.

Click here to sign up to support this campaign, by signing on electronically or downloading a printable version of the sign-on form from the WNCAP website.
