Federal Economic Stimulus Paymentsstimulus

Federal Economic Stimulus Payments will be sent to millions of taxpayers beginning in May - make sure you and your clients receive yours.  Eligible individuals receive up to $600 and married couples up to $1,200. Parents receive an additional $300 for each eligible child who was 17 or under at the end of 2007 and who lived at home more than half of 2007.

To receive your payment:  you must have a valid Social Security number, at least $3,000 of income for 2007, and file a 2007 Federal tax return.  Even people who normally don't have to file taxes are required to this year in order to get the payment.

For more information about the Economic Stimulus Payment, click here.

2-1-1 can link households earning less than $40,000 per year to free tax sites where IRS-certified tax preparers ensure that your tax return is filed correctly.  Don't let a little paperwork stand between you and your Federal Economic Stimulus Payment. Dial 2-1-1 or 252-HELP (4357) from a cell phone or visit www.211wnc.org for more information!
