Cell PhoneDial 2-1-1 from Cell Phones

Community information and referral services have never been easier to access.  As of July 31st, 2-1-1 is accessible by cell phones!

Until now the 2-1-1 number has only worked on landline telephones.  Now anyone can get through to 2-1-1 on cell phones from any of the 6 major carriers in our state (Alltel, AT&T, Nextel/Sprint, TMobile/SunCom, US Cellular, and Verizon).  During tough economic times, community needs rise, and it's important that people know where to call to find help.  Now all it takes is a three digit call for people to get connected and get answers.

Community Clinics

Community clinics are consumer-based, community-controlled, nonprofit outpatient facilities that provide basic health care including physical examinations, immunizations, family planning, nutrition assistance and diagnosis and treatment of common ailments for low income people, people who are homeless or uninsured/underinsured or other medically underserved populations that are geographically, economically and culturally challenged.  Services are generally provided on an ability-to-pay basis, sometimes at no cost to clients.

Community clinics differ from public clinics, which are county-operated outpatient health care facilities, usually a part of the local health department.  For a list of public clinics in the area, or for complete details about these community clinics, call 2-1-1.
