United Way's 2-1-1
of Western North Carolina

United Way’s 2-1-1 of WNC is a community service information line that links people to health and human services in Buncombe, Henderson, Madison and Transylvania counties. 2-1-1 service is free, confidential and available 24/7 to speakers of all languages. Whether you want to find or give help, trained referral specialists are available to answer your call and identify the right resources for you.

Search over 2,000 health and human service programs in 2-1-1's online community resource database at www.211wnc.org.  Call 2-1-1 or visit the online database today to get connected and get answers. Services include housing, food, medicine, transportation, support groups, money management, legal assistance, counseling, health care, recreation, donations, volunteer opportunities, and much more.

NEW! Buncombe County Senior Services Directory 

A new Senior Services Directory for Buncombe County was printed in April 2009.  

The Directory lists providers of services to senior citizens and is available free to the public by calling the Council on Aging of Buncombe County at 277-8288

The Directory is also available online at Council on Aging’s website:

The Directory was put together by members from the Aging Coordinating Consortium,including Council on Aging, Land-of-Sky Regional Council Area Agency on Aging, CarePartners Health Services, and United Way’s 2-1-1 of WNC.
